Are you considering an abortion?
Although Life Choices does not perform or refer for abortions, having answers to these three questions will help you determine what you should do:
1. Am I really pregnant?
If you are experiencing pregnancy symptoms, or have taken a positive home pregnancy test, it is important that you get a lab-quality pregnancy test for greatest accuracy. If the test is positive, an ultrasound will confirm your pregnancy and give you the best estimate of how far the pregnancy is advanced.
2. How far along am I?
Abortion procedures and their costs are based upon how far along you are in your pregnancy. We can help you determine how advanced your pregnancy is so that you understand the type of procedure you may be contemplating. We provide lab-quality pregnancy tests and ultrasounds by medically trained professionals at no cost to you. When your pregnancy is confirmed as viable, and you know how far along you are, you’ll be better able to make an informed decision.
3. When did I last get tested for STD’s?
Abortion has the potential to make some STD’s worse, taking what is on the outside of your body and spreading it throughout your reproductive system. For instance, if you test positive for Gonorrhea or Chlamydia and have an abortion before you are treated, your risk of getting Pelvic Inflammatory Disease increases.* The only way that you can make an intelligent choice is to have all the answers up front.
Life Choices does not do STD testing at this time, but we can refer you within the Lewis-Clark Valley for STD testing.
