 If you have had an abortion you are not alone there are many other women out there according to statistics, 1 out of every 2.5 women in the United States has had at least one abortion. Abortion has affected single, married and divorced women. It has touched women from all different age groups, races, socio-economic levels and religions. Many women you know have been affected by abortion, it could be possibly anyone, your sisters, your cousins, your aunts, your mothers, your neighbors, your co-workers or your schoolmates. There’re many other women just like you that have been affected by abortion and loss that comes with it.

Today we would like to offer you a safe place to find support after an abortion. We are offering groups, workshops or one on one support, to allow you to talk about your physical and emotional issues after an abortion and to find a place to heal.

    Do you find yourself struggling to turn off the feelings connected to your abortion(s), perhaps telling yourself over and over to forget it?

    When abortion is mentioned in public, do you find your body reacting physically, i.e. tightened stomach, muscles, clenched jaw or holding your breath?

    Are you affected by physical reminders of your abortion, i.e., babies, pregnant women, or are you uncomfortable around children?

    Do you find yourself avoiding books, magazines and television programs that deal with the subject of abortion?; Do you change the subject in conversations that deal with the topic of abortion?

    Have you placed yourself in a situation where you could be faced with another unwanted pregnancy?

    Have you experienced a substantial increase in drug or alcohol use or any self-destructive behaviors (eating disorders, abusive relationships, increased sexual activity)?

    Have you experienced any peculiar reactions such as nightmares, flashbacks, or hallucinations (such as hearing a baby cry) that relate to your abortion experience?

    Have you experienced periods of prolonged depression?

    Have you had any suicidal thoughts since your abortion(s)?

    Are you unable to talk about your abortion(s)?

    Are you resentful and unforgiving towards anyone for their involvement in your abortion(s), i.e. parents, boyfriend, the abortionist, friends, or husband?

    Do you find yourself rationalizing why you are better off without that child in your life today?

    Have you felt a vague sort of emptiness leading to a deep sense of loss?

    When choosing to share about your abortion, are you overcome with sorrow, anger or guilt?

    Do you feel compelled to conceal your abortion from certain people in your life?

    If you have children now, do you smother them with your love or overprotect them?  Are you unable to bond with the child/children you have now?

    If you do not have children now, do you fear that you will never be able to have them?  Do you fear you may have suffered physical harm as a result of the abortion?
